Ryan started playing guitar at the age of 12, when he got a Kramer guitar for christmas. He started taking lessons from a great
teacher named Vince Kirk soon after and developed an appreciation for blues and rock guitar. His first performance was at the
age of 14 when he got a chance to play in the talent show at his middle school with some fellow students.
As he moved into the high school years, he continued to practice and enjoy playing guitar. Often, he would hook up with friends
for jam sessions after school and on weekends. By the middle of his high school years his interest in guitar playing got his
brother Russell interested and they played together frequently. Ryan's next real performance was with a jam band at a local
church his senior year. By the end of that year he and his brother felt they needed to get a real band together. And shortly after
that was when Identity Crisis was born.
